I'm no serious audiophile, so take my review with a grain of salt. When I decided that it's finally time to change my modest Sound Blaster Z and Sennheiser PC360 combo to something more serious, I've read countless forum pages and watched dozens of videos. The search lead me to this little unit. I just wanted a good neutral sound signature without any bells and whistles for an affordable price. And that's exactly what this combo is. It doesn't do much, but it just works. Paired with HD660s it produces crystal clear and neutral sound. It doesn't feel like a big improvement on SBZ, the difference is only in small detail, at least for me. There's less mud on heavy rock tracks and more clarity to the sound overall, if you listen closely. Maybe I can't hear more difference, because I have untrained ears. Overall I'm still satisfied with the purchase and pretty sure there's more to discover with this unit for me.
Amazing product it's everything I had hoped for. I was introduced to this product years ago through tek syndicate and it's been my dream DAC since then. I am blown away by the quality of both the sound and of the craftsmanship of the device itself. I would recommend this to anyone looking for the last DAC they'll ever need. I'd also like to note that I contacted customer support with some questions and they got back to me within minutes and were very kind. huge plus
I just received this in the mail today and I have got to say that great things come in small packages. Clear, clean sound, nothing added except for brining out details and subtle nuances of the music. My HD598's sound excellent. Very helpful staff and a outstanding product. Thank you.
After doing plenty of research around combo DAC/amp solutions, I landed on this bad boy Obj2. I'm totally impressed with the quality and design of the Obj2. It's extremely sturdy and looks v sexy. I have it powering my DT990s 250Ohm with no problem at all. Compared to my previous Focusrite Interface, the Obj2 is incredible and produces great sound quality. My only concern (it has nothing to do with the product itself) was the packaging the Obj2 came in. It was a spacious box with barely any padding inside. Giving the Obj2 lots of room to bounce around inside the box. It worried me when I saw that, but everything is fine thus far. Would recommend to friends and family!
This is a level (or more) upgrade from a very capable Fiio E09K/Alpen combo driving AKG K702 phones. The improvement is two-fold. First, the signal coming through K702s sounds absolutely on point...even at my highest threshold. Secondly, the interface is plug and play simple...no faffing about with a wobbly-docking set up that may or may not connect to source (granted the Fiio seperation of amp/dac allows portability, but Fiio's desk top configuration suffers. Not an issue with the Mayflower). Also, their customer service has been honest and very prompt...BIG Kudos to Tyler and his team for getting everything right.
For the price I couldn't be any more happier, brings out everything my HD 650's have to offer.
I recently purchased the ODAC/amp as my first real headphone amp, and couldn't be happier. The build quality is excellent, and the sound quality, which is what I bought it for, is very impressive. A great dac/amp for the price, IMO. It works well with USB out from my macbook, and I also got USB working w my Android (Pixel 2) using a USB OTB cable and a small self-powered USB hub. I had considered a few other DAC/Amp options, including separate DACs and amps, but liked the idea of having everything in one. Great for my use case (something small and portable that'll fit on my night table). Definitely recommended.
Exceeded my expectations. Very clean and very neutral sound. Separation and soundstage are impressive. I bought it with the 1x and 3.3x Medium gain settings and it easily drives my Sennheiser HD 600s and HD 650s on the 1x setting. Also sounds great with my Massdrop x Fostex TH - X00 Mahoganys.
never owned a dac/amp but can tell a noticeable difference sounds far cleaner the the rear 3.5 witch was giving me a static noise even when nothing was playing like others have said even at max volume no sound when nothing is playing and for the amp it definitely has the power to drive my Hd 6xx headphones usually only have to turn the knob a quarter of the way
Amazing product and top notch customer service! I ordered the wrong model instead of the Desktop version, and Tyler was able to quickly create a separate invoice for the difference. My Senns HD650 have never sounded so good ;)
