I can't believe I didn't get into amps at the start! this is my first amp and I couldn't be happier. Such Clean sound and simple to use! Would definitely and already recommended this product to friends!

This dac/amp combo will power any set of headphones you're likely to run into. Now I know very little about audio and don't claim to be an audiophile. Despite that this product has met my needs in every way, which includes heavy gaming and music use. Currently using the dt990 pros from Beyerdynamic, the 600 ohm version, and this dac/amp provides enough power for them. Though I do use the gain switch with them unlike my other headphones.

Pairs with an HD650 very well. Clear, uncolored audio & signal path, and ultimately a product I would recommend to anyone who wants a solid combo unit.

I thought lot and hard before purchasing this product. I'm not a gamer and was looking to enhance my music listening from my computer through my headphones. I've spent good money on some very nice can's so I thought a DAC Amp would improve my music experience. Like all things I spend my hard earned money on (never enough of) I research to get the best bang for my bucks. With the help from others that reviewed this product I decided to pull the trigger on this unit. Ordered it from Mayflowers web site, it arrived quickly and was very impressively built. Compact yet solid and it's performance is everything I could have hoped for and then some. Making the best out of all my can's all I can say is WOW worth every penny spent. Clean and powerful if your interested in one of these buy with confidence they make a world of difference especially with HD lossless music. Thank you Mayflower for a great product.

Ordered this during the holiday rush, and it was still received within a few days. It arrived well packed, although the volume knob fell off initially and had to be installed with an Allen key. Otherwise, the build is clean, tight, and attractive. My unit has the power on the rear and RCA outputs as well. Installation following the enclosed directions was completely straight forward. I use these to drive a set of modified Grado SR-80e headphones. As noted elsewhere, the noise floor even at top levels (with no input) is effectively zero. The sound is as good as anything I have ever heard, I'm going back to previous recordings to hear them again. You will notice hiss on older pre-digital recordings, otherwise the quality of the input will govern the quality of the output. I have used a much older DAC previously, this blows it away. If you have been looking for a DAC-Amp combo, you absolutely can;t go wrong with this unit. **HIGHLY RECOMMENDED **

5 star rating is an easy choice. This hand made unit powers my 300ohm Sennheiser HD600's with ease. Even without the gain button pressed, at 1/4 volume this thing is almost uncomfortably loud. As for the DAC, it's honest and clear and gives you the audio exactly how it was recorded. I find it outpaces my Xonar Essence STX sound card pretty handily. The only downside is now I find it hard to listen to poorly recorded music now as the flaws are now more apparent. On the flip side, beautifully mastered albums like the Dark side of the Moon and Random Access Memory now sound incredible. It's a beast of an amp paired with a crystal clear DAC and high end craftmenship to boot. This thing is one of the hidden gems in audio equipment. I just wish I knew about DAC/AMP combos before I went through several sound cards chasing that elusive perfect audio setup. If you've got a good pair of high end headphones and good quality FLAC audio, this is the missing piece of your audio setup. Also, plug in play in Windows 8, no drivers, instantly works flawlessly. Plug and play, thats all there is to it. Eliminated all the distortion that i was getting before and also the amp has 0 audible hissing when sound is not present.

Awesome Amp i don't know why i didn't buy one sooner heaps of power for such a small device powerful as hell nearly blew my ear drums apart after listening to some music. So clear and distortion / hissing free when no sound brings such a different sound to any thing you listen to through this amp with a pair of headphones . Started with some cheap one's then bought some higher end one's and the difference was mind blowing experience with this amp definitely worth the money high recommend to anyone looking to improve their listening experience ten fold.
